My sister, Allyson suffered a massive Brain-Stem Stroke on March 1, 2008. The Pons portion of her brain, which is responsible for motor skills and speech, suffered the most damage, taking her ability to move and speak. Allyson is still able to think for herself and has maintained her cognitive functions and memories, but she no longer is able to use her body as she once did. She has minimal movement in her left arm, allowing her to type on Facebook and communicate with the use of a spelling board. 
Allyson is a mother of four, who went above and beyond for her children, and for her family. Her wish is to regain her body's functionality, especially her voice. Current U.S. medical policies prevents Allyson from receiving any kind of Stem Cell Treatment which could aid her ability to use her body again, and a chance to live a normal life again. Medical facilities out side the United States offer Stem Cell Treatment, but it's costly, and must be paid for out-of-pocket. This website was created to help raise funds for Allyson's treatment.
